Pakistan’s top security officials have made it clear that operations against terrorists in Afghanistan will continue until specific objectives are achieved.
Officials said that the Afghan Taliban are well aware of Pakistan’s demands to stop the war, but they are trying to protect TTP terrorists after the attacks. According to security sources, the wanted terrorists in Afghanistan are being hidden behind human shields, which is very worrying. Officials revealed that Pakistani forces have destroyed all 36 posts in Afghanistan from which terrorists were launched into Pakistan. It was also said that the world knows whose “super proxy” the Afghan Taliban government is acting for.
Regarding the recent attack on Bagram Air Base, it was said that its purpose was to destroy the weapons and logistics system used against Pakistan. Officials said bluntly that “be it the buffer zone or the Wakhan belt, we have to defend our country at all costs.” They made it clear that Pakistan had not targeted Afghanistan but its enemies there, and that these actions were legally, religiously, and morally correct.
Security officials said that the Afghan Taliban have now come to “our pitch” by attacking our forces. However, it is the Afghan people’s own job to get rid of the current government of the group in Afghanistan. Our friendly countries and the Afghan people themselves support Pakistan’s demands.
Regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, it was said that the provincial administration is serious about the issue of counter-terrorism and is well aware of the nature of the threat. The officials clarified that there is no need for a major “full-scale operation” in the Tirah Valley, but rather the problem has been solved by successfully targeting the foundations of attacks in Pakistan.
