The administration of the federal capital’s Islamabad International Airport has officially announced the temporary suspension of flight operations on March 16, 2026.

According to airport authorities, flight operations will remain completely suspended from 08:30 AM to 10:30 AM (Pakistan Time) on March 16, 2026. During this two-hour period, neither any flight will be able to land nor will any aircraft be allowed to take off.

Sources say that the suspension has been made due to “operational reasons”, which may include necessary runway maintenance or safety drills in view of the current situation in the region. However, the administration did not provide further details of these reasons.
The Airport Authority has strictly instructed all passengers, especially those arriving on international flights, to Confirm flight status with the call center or website of their respective airline before leaving for the airport.
Passengers whose flights have been rescheduled during this time should contact the airline staff for alternative times.
