CALIFORNIA: OpenAI has launched its text-to-video app “Sora” to Android users, thus the company has opened doors to more people to access one of the most talked-about AI tech products by OpenAI.

The application was initially available for iOS (Apple devices) only, and within the first five days, it had already achieved over one million downloads. To keep a user engaged, iOS users chose Sora over ChatGPT mobile app, and this is what people expect to happen at the Google Play Store.

The app is based on OpenAI’s vanguard video generation model Sora 2 and satisfies video requests by producing highly believable and artistically attractive AI videos from rudimentary text.

By far, nearly 7 out of 10 handsets worldwide are working on the Android platform. That means the release of the app for Android users is a gigantic move by OpenAI. Such an app includes a TikTok-like social feed that is full of AI-generated videos from content creators and also a “Cameo” creative tool that is a way for people to use their faces and be the stars of their AI-made videos.

Sora is an app designed for the US, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam markets, and the seven countries are in the Android app development stage as well.

At first, it was only by invitation, but now OpenAI has opened it to all users for short periods of time.
