PESHAWAR: Fans in Peshawar are expressing frustration as they face what they believe to be continued unfair treatment in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. The city has been allocated just one match in the 11th edition of the tournament, which is scheduled to take place on March 28 at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium. However, the prices of tickets for this single match have been set significantly higher than those in other cities.
The Peshawar match tickets start at 1500 Pakistani Rupees which exceeds the ticket prices of 250 to 600 Rupees that other cities, including Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi and Faisalabad charge. The pricing difference has created problems for Peshawar cricket fans who belong to lower and middle-income groups.
Local fans have shown their dissatisfaction because the city received only one match while other cities received several matches. Local fans consider the single match ticket prices to be a second attack on their community because they believe the pricing system works against those who cannot afford the expensive tickets.
Peshawar citizens maintain their love for cricket despite people voicing their complaints. Fans have established new records for ticket sales through their determined efforts. The latest match ticket information shows that 514 tickets remain available after most tickets have already sold through online channels.
Peshawar’s cricket fans demonstrate their strong affection for the sport through their ticket purchases which continue during the expensive ticket sales period. The decision to schedule only one match in their city has made fans feel neglected yet they still support the game with full energy.
