BAJAUR: A man lost life and eight others, including women, were injured when a mortar exploded in the Kardok area of Salarzai tehsil in Bajaur district on Sunday.
According to the Rescue 1122, the blast occurred at a house, and the mortar was brought home by children. A man succumbed to his injuries, while eight injured were quickly rushed to the district headquarters hospital, Khar, for treatment.
Rescue 1122 official said that women and children were among the injured, and a few among them were critical. However, they were provided with first aid by their team and shifted to the hospital.
Police said that a contingent had been moved to the incident spot and evidences were being collected at the site to ascertain the blast intensity.
