A person was killed and nine others injured when a vehicle heading towards Lucky Cement Factory from Begu Khel village was targeted by terrorists with improvised explosive device.
The attack was carried out when the vehicle was passing through a link road, where a powerful explosion was made using a pre-installed remote-controlled IED (Improvised Explosive Device).
Immediately after the explosion, the terrorists who were in the ambush also opened indiscriminate fire on the vehicle, aiming to cause maximum casualties. Members of the Begu Khel Peace Committee were specifically targeted in this attack. As a result of the tragic incident, one person died on the spot while nine people, including women, were seriously injured.
As soon as the incident was reported, police and rescue teams reached the spot and the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, where the condition of some is said to be critical. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the terrorists involved in the attack. According to local sources, the attack has spread severe fear and panic in the area, and the attack on the peace committee members is being described as an attempt to sabotage the peace in the area.
