ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a record-breaking 35 per cent hike in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices, raising the cost per kilogram by a staggering Rs 78.28.
Under the new notification, the price of LPG has been fixed at Rs 304.12 per kg effective from April 1, 2026, applying to both locally produced and imported variants. This sharp adjustment brings the cost of a standard 11.8 kg domestic cylinder to Rs 3,588.59. According to the regulatory body, the producer price per cylinder is now set at Rs 3,101.25, which includes marketing, distribution, and transportation margins.
This latest pricing shift is expected to exacerbate ongoing inflationary pressures, significantly increasing the cost of living for consumers reliant on cylinder gas for daily needs.
