ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has called on the public to report any violations at petrol pumps, urging swift action against practices such as short-selling, hoarding, and overpricing. In a statement, OGRA stressed that the public’s cooperation is essential for protecting consumers’ rights and ensuring the availability of petrol at fair prices.
The regulatory authority has particularly requested complaints regarding fuel shortages or unjustified price hikes at petrol stations. Citizens can lodge complaints via OGRA’s helpline at 0800-777-33 or through WhatsApp at 0333-5108830.
OGRA has warned that it will not tolerate short-selling or hoarding of fuel at any petrol station. It further emphasized that violators would face strict legal action. The authority added that public involvement is crucial to safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring transparency in the fuel sector.
OGRA has also reiterated that it is committed to maintaining fair practices and preventing illegal activities at petrol stations, which directly impact the public and the economy.

Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar stated that the recent increase in petroleum product prices is a result of the global situation, impacting not only Pakistan but many other countries as well.
He urged the public on the social media platform X to disregard rumors and speculation regarding fuel prices, assuring that the government and relevant ministries will continue to provide accurate and verified information periodically.
