PESHAWAR: The number of dengue infected cases in the province rose to 3700 as 35 more patients infected with dengue virus were brought to the hospital in the last 24 hours, the health department said.
So far, 1044 cases have been reported from Charsadda, 377 from Peshawar, 343 from Mardan, 329 from Haripur and 299 from Mansehra, the health department said. Meanwhile Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi has decided to launch a special campaign to eliminate dengue virus from the province and has directed all departments to implement the dengue action plan.
He further directed that all departments must submit a report on the implementation of the dengue action plan. He also directed members of the assembly and local government representatives to participate in the awareness campaign.
A door-to-door awareness campaign should be started in sensitive and the shortcomings of the health sector must be removed and all facilities would be provided in hospitals to help patients. He said that political figure’s picture will not be allowed in advertisements and dengue campaign.
