ISLAMABAD: Nothing spare for Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah as he wrote a letter to the federal government to hand over the KP-rejected bulletproof vehicle for Sindh Police amid security concerns.

In a letter to the federation, the Sindh government has said that there is an urgent need for bulletproof vehicles, and these vehicles should be given to Sindh. The federation has already decided to give the three bulletproof vehicles to Balochistan at the demand of Balochistan.

It should be noted that Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had given three bulletproof vehicles to KP Police a few days ago; however, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had directed the police not to take the vehicles given by the federation, describing them as old and defective.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi had announced to provide new vehicles and more facilities to the police. The federal government, while giving its stance on the issue of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government not taking the three bulletproof vehicles given by the federal government, has said that the three bulletproof vehicles given to the KP government have been used by an international organization.

According to official sources, the bullet-proofing of the vehicles was not done locally but is of international standards. These vehicles are 15-year-old models; however, their basic functionality is intact.

On the other hand, Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti had said that Balochistan is also affected by terrorism like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and requested Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi that if the KP government is not taking bulletproof vehicles, then give them to us because Balochistan needs additional security equipment for effective measures against terrorism.

On the other hand, on the refusal of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and on the request of the Balochistan Chief Minister, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi had announced to send bulletproof vehicles to Balochistan.

In this regard, he accepted the request of Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti and replied to him that CM Sahib Dun! These bulletproof vehicles will be sent to Balochistan immediately to increase anti-terrorism efforts. Thank you for highlighting this issue.
