PESHAWAR: Provincial President of Awami National Party Mian Iftikhar Hussain has said in his message on the occasion of Non-Violence Day that non-violence is not a weakness but the greatest strength of man.
This is the great weapon that Bacha Khan gave us. He fought the biggest imperialist of the subcontinent, Britain, not with guns and ammunition but with patience, peace, knowledge, and love. This philosophy is the basic ideology of the Awami National Party today.
Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the world celebrates “Non-Violence Day” every year on October 02. Bacha Khan spent their entire lives on the path of peace and non-violence. The United Nations officially announced the celebration of this day in 2007 to remind the world that real strength lies in peace and tolerance, not in violence.
He said that Bacha Khan also made non-violence the centre of his politics and life in this region, and the Khudai Khidmatgar Movement is the greatest example of this philosophy that taught the Pashtun society a lesson of peace and love. Referring to his personal grief, he said that terrorism took away his only son; this is a wound that never heals.
But despite this grief, he adopted the path of peace, tolerance, and non-violence instead of hatred and revenge, and dedicated his life to promoting this message. The provincial president said that the youth are the real strength of society. Extremism and hatred have weakened this region, so the time has come for the youth to make education their weapon, politics their service, and unity their identity.
This message is the teachings of Bacha Khan, and this path is the guarantee of a bright future for the Pashtun and Pakistani nation. He said that, unfortunately, even today, there are elements that promote hatred and violence, but the Awami National Party has always rejected this thought.
We demand that the state make peace, education, equality, and public rights its priority so that Pakistan can be made a peaceful, democratic, and just country. Mian Iftikhar Hussain concluded by saying that peace, love, and tolerance are the true identity of humanity. Wars and bloodshed are not the solution to problems. The real path is only non-violence, which ends hatred and unites hearts.
