PESHAWAR: Ihsanullah Khan, Spokesperson of Awami National Party (ANP) has said that his party has not gotten any notification from any party about the selection of an ANP member, as the upcoming governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a statement the ANP spokesperson stated, “No communication has occurred with the ANP about the governorship. Should any communication happen the issue will be reviewed internally by the party prior, to making any decision.”

Ihsanullah also strongly condemned the administration claiming that the KP government has lost control and has failed to address governance and security issues.

“The administration at present is clearly failing ” the spokesperson remarked, voicing worry about the worsening governance conditions, in the region.

In the meantime, ANP’s chief spokesperson Ihsanullah Khan stated that PTI’s continual declarations of protests conflict with its responsibilities, as part of the government.

Ihsanullah Khan declared, “If PTI intends to demonstrate it must resign from the government first.”

He emphasized again that ANP supports the persistence of institutions noting that protesting on the streets while occupying government roles weakens democratic principles.

The party leadership reiterated that ANP strongly supports procedures and the maintenance of institutional stability.

“Awami National Party believes in the continuity and stability of democratic institutions,” Ihsanullah Khan emphasized.

KP government warns of strong response to Governor’s Rule proposal

Shafi Jan, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Information remarked that if the federal authorities try to enforce Governors Rule they would encounter resolute opposition.

In a TV channels exclusive interview, Shafi Jan strongly denied accusations from political rivals, especially Attaullah Tarar, who asserted that KP’s political figures are connected to terrorists. Jan urged Tarar to present evidence of these connections labelling the claims, as unfounded and driven by political agendas.

He claimed that demands, for Governors Rule aim to weaken the elected government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “These remarks are intended to stifle the desires of the populace who have chosen their representatives through means ” he stressed.

In an event Sheikh Waqas Akram, Secretary of Information for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reiterated Jan’s views mentioning that the concept of Governors Rule was proposed prior to the exit of former Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. He characterized the move as a repeated manoeuvre designed to apply pressure, on the provincial administration.

“If any proof exists against the Chief Minister it must be brought before the court. Otherwise a defamation case ought to be initiated ” Akram stated, emphasizing that the people of KP had granted their mandate and any effort to seize it by force would be intolerable.
