LAHORE: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said there will be no compromise on the repatriation of Afghan refugee and they will return to their own country at any cast as security the local population is the top priority.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that Afghan refugee camps are still in place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, but steps are being taken to dismantle them. Talking to the media in Lahore, he said that the camps in Nowshera and Khyber have been de-notified, but they are not yet fully operational.

Mohsin Naqvi said that Afghans were involved in the recent suicide attack in Islamabad and the relevant SHOs have been tasked with searching for the Afghans involved in this incident.

He stressed that it is imperative to send Afghan refugees back in any case to ensure the security of the country. The Interior Minister added that he has to take this step in view of the threat of further bomb blasts. He clarified that the Afghan camps in the province are still active, but the authorities are taking steps to dismantle them so that the safety of the local population can be ensured.

Mohsin Naqvi also said that Pakistan will take a tough stance on the issue of Afghan refugees and the country’s security will not be compromised under any circumstances. This statement comes at a time when public concerns are growing regarding the Afghan refugee camps and their activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Interior Minister, these measures are aimed not only at protecting the local population but also at stabilizing the law and order situation in the country.
