ISLAMABAD: In response to the terrorism committed by Fitna al-Khawarij in Afghanistan, Pakistan conducted targeted operations against their hideouts. This action was based on credible intelligence regarding Fitna al-Khawarij and other terrorist groups affiliated with them, which have claimed responsibility for various attacks in Pakistan over time.

The operation specifically targeted those terrorists who had sought refuge in Afghanistan after carrying out attacks against the people and security forces of Pakistan. Claims suggesting that Afghan citizens or security forces were targeted are completely false and represent propaganda.

During this operation, seven hideouts of Fitna al-Khawarij in four locations, Nangarhar, Khost, Paktika, and Paktia, were successfully struck based on reliable intelligence. Reports indicate that several members of the operational leadership of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed in these operations, along with numerous other terrorists.

Pakistan has brought the issue of the presence of Fitna al-Khawarij and their affiliated sub-terrorist groups in Afghanistan to the attention of the Afghan Taliban regime, providing credible information and substantial evidence. Given the lack of serious efforts from Afghanistan to address this matter, Pakistan felt compelled to act in accordance with its national security needs.

Pakistan hopes that the Afghan Taliban regime will cooperate fully in eliminating these terrorist groups from their territory, considering the security issues that affect Pakistan. It is emphasized that these terrorists, who target innocent people and mosques, have no connection to Islam.
