KARACHI: Six wagons of a freight train traveling from Karachi to Lahore derailed between Meting and Bolarai. The incident disrupted the schedule of several up-country passenger trains.
Pakistan Railways told that the cargo train went off the track approximately 157 kilometers from Karachi. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
While confirming the incident, the official said that the down track remains clear, and train traffic on that line is unaffected. However, up trains were impacted:
149-Up Mehran Express was held at Meting,
17-Up was stopped at Jhampir.

Officials claimed that the cause of the derailment will be determined after a full investigation and technical assessment.
