KHYBER: The Government has formally inaugurated the National Logistics Corporation (NLC) terminal on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s South Waziristan district. The gate was opened for commercial activities after a two-year gap.
Sources indicate that the government has officially inaugurated the NLC terminal and has commenced business activities at the crucial Pak-Afghan border. However, the Afghan government has currently blocked the road, preventing vehicles from passing. The business community is hopeful that the Afghan government will soon remove these obstacles, as promoting commercial activities at the Angourada gate, similar to those at Kharlachi, Chaman, and Torkham, benefits both governments and their citizens. Serious diplomatic efforts are essential to facilitate this process.

Pakistani authorities assert that there are no obstacles on their side, as modern facilities and technology have been implemented to promote trade. Meanwhile, officials at the gate on the Afghan side claim that they have not received formal instructions from Kabul and that the gate will open once they receive permission.
