Eight people were killed when a missile directly struck a residential building near Jerusalem, according to Israel’s emergency response service on Sunday afternoon.

This incident marks the deadliest event in Israel since Iran began launching ballistic missiles in retaliation for a series of joint US-Israel airstrikes conducted on Saturday morning.

Nearly 30 people were injured in the attack on the city of Beit Shemesh, with two individuals reported to be seriously injured, as stated by Magen David Adom (MDA). Reports from foreign media indicate that at least nine Israelis lost their lives and dozens more were wounded in the missile strike, which is believed to be part of Iran’s actions in response to American and Israeli military operations.

Additionally, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards have claimed responsibility for targeting the USS Abraham Lincoln, stating that they fired four ballistic missiles at the ship; however, U.S. officials have yet to confirm this assertion.
