ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist Muhammad Malik said that the next 72 hours could prove to be very difficult for the Afghan Taliban.

Talking to a private TV, Muhammad Malik said that according to information received from some sources, an air response against the Taliban is expected from Pakistan within the next one to two hours. Drones and air force aircraft will be used in this operation to target important Taliban hideouts.

He added that this move is being taken in response to the recent aggression and border violations by the Afghan Taliban, and Pakistan has previously maintained its security through heavy airstrikes and border clashes. In recent days, Taliban shelling and counterattacks by Pakistani forces have continued in the border areas.

The possibility of more casualties is also being expressed. During the operation, 27 posts of the Afghan Taliban were destroyed and 9 posts were captured by the Pakistan Army.

In addition, two enemy corps headquarters, three brigade headquarters, two ammunition depots, a logistics base, three battalion headquarters, two sector headquarters and more than 80 tanks, artillery guns and APCs were destroyed.
