PESHAWAR: The newly elected Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, is likely to approach the Peshawar High Court regarding his oath-taking ceremony.

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afiridi, will submit a letter to the Chief Justice Peshawar High Court through the Advocate General. The letter would narrate that, as per the 26th Constitutional amendment Chief Justice has the authority to nominate anyone to take the oath from the Chief Minister.

On the other hand, Opposition leader Dr Ibadullah has also prepared a petition to challenge the election of the new Chief Minister before the approval of the outgoing Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur resignation. However, there is little chance to annul the election process as the Governor is not authorised to reject or object the resignation of the Chief Minister.
