PESHAWAR: The Directorate of Elementary and Secondary Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has declared new school hours for Ramzan which will serve students and staff members throughout the province including its merged districts.
The notification issued through official channels will implement its revised timetable during Ramzan to enable students to follow their religious duties while schools maintain educational operations. The school day starts for grades 1 to 5 at 7 45 AM and ends at 11 15 AM.
The school day starts for grades 6 to 10 at 7 45 AM and ends at 12 10 PM. The school day starts for higher secondary schools at 7 45 AM and ends at 12 10 PM. All schools will start their day with a morning assembly that includes Quran recitation.
School administrators must establish strict adherence to new school hours which they must follow without compromising educational standards. The authorities implemented these modifications to honour Ramzan’s spiritual significance while still allowing students to continue their educational programs.
Ramazan moon sighted in Pakistan, first fast to be observed tomorrow
Meanwhile, the moon of Ramazan has been sighted in Pakistan, after which the first fast will be observed across the country tomorrow, Thursday.
According to Geo News, a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Peshawar on Wednesday to sight the moon of Ramadan, which was chaired by the Chairman of the Committee, Maulana Abdul Khair Azad.
The meeting reviewed the Shariah evidence received from across the country in detail. Representatives of the Meteorological Department and Suparco were also present on the occasion, who provided scientific and technical assistance, while members of the Zonal Committee also attended the meeting and provided information about the information received from other parts of the country.
Talking to the media after the meeting, Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Maulana Abdul Khair Azad, officially announced that solid and Shariah evidence of moon sighting has been received from different cities of Pakistan.
He said that after verifying all the evidence, the committee has unanimously decided that the first of Ramadan will be tomorrow.
