ISLAMABAD: National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) data monitoring application aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens identity data and enabling individuals to independently monitor the use of their personal information.
Through the new app, citizens will be able to view complete data verification history, allowing them to see where, when, and for what purpose their CNIC data was used.
The application will also clearly indicate which institution carried out the verification, along with the date and nature of the request.
According to officials, the initiative will establish an effective check and balance against misuse of identity data, while helping to prevent data leaks and unauthorized verifications.
The app is expected to significantly enhance privacy and data security, and discourage cybercrime, fraudulent verification practices, and identity-related misuse.
Authorities said the move marks a major step towards empowering citizens and promoting transparency in the use of national identity data.
