ISLAMABAD: A helicopter service has been launched to connect the capital city of Pakistan, Islamabad, with Nathiagali, a popular hill station, and thus it has given tourists and travellers a faster and more luxurious way to reach the picturesque spot.
Through this new helicopter service, the modernization of Pakistan’s travel infrastructure in the tourism sector is being carried out. The service will give an option of the quickest means of transport as compared to the road which takes almost three hours for the journey through the Murree expressway and the twisty roads of Abbottabad. The helicopter route reduces the travel time to just 15–20 minutes, thus giving passengers a direct and efficient way to get to Nathiagali.
The aerial ride is the main attraction and it is also the one that has the best view; that of the Margalla Hills and the rugged terrain of the Galyat region. The travellers are seeing the green and beautiful nature of the Himalayan foothills from a unique view and they are also very comfortable and fashionable at the same time.
The Nathiagali local government, along with the responsible people in the hospitality sector, is expecting that the new service will attract more visitors to the Galyat area, particularly upper-class tourists and foreign travellers. The Galyat Development Authority (GDA) is already counting on the service to double the number of weekend getaways and corporate retreats in the area which in turn will be a boost to the luxury hotels and local businesses.
