ISLAMABAD: UAE Ambassador Salem Al-Zabi announced that the United Arab Emirates will start issuing work visas for Pakistani workers because all necessary preparations have been completed and work progress will begin at any moment.

The ambassador made these remarks while meeting a delegation from the Pakistan Overseas Employment Promoters Association (POEPA), which was led by Chairman Syed Rehmat Ali Shah. The meeting included POEPA Secretary General Mumtaz Siddiq, former chairman Syed Habib Ali Shah, Special Assistant to the Chairman Shakeel Abbasi, and Executive Member Tariq Javed.

Ambassador Al-Zabi received the delegation at the UAE embassy while he described Pakistan-UAE relations as historic and fraternal ties that have strengthened over time. The ambassador explained that both countries maintain several areas of partnership which include workforce exchange as their fundamental element.

He praised the contributions of skilled Pakistani workers, noting their significant role in UAE’s development and construction. He explained that Pakistani labourers generate economic benefits for the UAE through their professional abilities and work dedication.

Al-Zabi confirmed that Pakistani citizens will receive work visas again while he reported that the current work process needs preparation work before it can provide job openings for Pakistanis.

POEPA Chairman Syed Rehmat Ali Shah appreciated the UAE ambassador during the meeting for his efforts in their efforts towards the restoration process. He said that the Pakistani workforce had been very helpful in the development process for the UAE, and this process will be followed in the future as well. He also hoped that with the reinstatement of work visas, the economic ties between the two nations would further improve.

Further confirming that work visas are also resuming for citizens coming from the country of Pakistan, it was confirmed that work visas are in preparation, and substantial work will be available for citizens coming from Pakistan once work visas are resumed.

During deliberations of the meeting, Chairman POEPA Syed Rehmat Ali Shah has expressed appreciation for the efforts put forward by the UAE’s Ambassador towards stronger ties between the two nations. He announced that Pakistani skilled workers are significant stakeholders in the development of the UAE and their cooperation will continue further in times to come. Expressing optimism, it was said that stronger ties in work visas will further enhance further, the stronger ties in economic relations and create more work opportunities in the UAE for Pakistani youth.
