PESHAWAR (Kamran Ali Shah) The accountability court has accepted the applications of four suspects in the Kohistan financial scandal to surrender their property and Rs 140 million in cash and ordered that the NAB funds and assets be handed over to the provincial government.
Accountability court judge Muhammad Zafar Khan heard the applications of four suspects, including a woman, in the Kohistan corruption scandal.
The court was told that the four petitioners are surrendering Rs 141 million in cash, a one-kanal 7-marla plot and a 5-marla house.
According to the NAB investigation officer, the main accused in the scandal, Qaiser Iqbal, transferred Rs 30 million to the account of a woman named Mehwish, while Rs 111 million was transferred to the account of C&W employee Barkat Ali.
Further investigation revealed that the accused Qaiser Iqbal purchased a one-kanal 7-marla valuable plot in Abbottabad in the name of Gul Dad, and also purchased a 5-marla house in Rawalpindi in the name of Aamir Shahzad.
The NAB investigation officer informed the court that the petitioners are voluntarily relinquishing all funds and assets, and NAB has no objection in this regard. The accountability court ordered the transfer of the petitioners’ funds to the account of the NAB Chairman and the handover of the assets to the provincial government.
