ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced that its offices across the country will be closed for one day. According to an official statement, NADRA will observe a public holiday declared by the federal government and will remain closed on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in observance of Allama Iqbal Day.
NADRA’s 24-hour offices will close at midnight on November 8, 2025, and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025.
During the holiday, NADRA advises citizens to access its digital identity services via the Pak ID mobile app. Through this app, citizens can submit applications for their identity cards and manage other services online.
Additionally, NADRA has recently introduced a new service that allows citizens to create identity cards from home. This means that individuals will no longer need to visit NADRA offices to obtain their identity cards.
According to NADRA, citizens can easily complete an online form, pay the fee after biometric verification, and have their identity cards delivered directly to their homes. This service is particularly beneficial for overseas Pakistanis and those living in remote areas who may have difficulty reaching NADRA offices.
NADRA aims to help citizens avoid long queues, repeated office visits, and wasted time with this initiative. The NADRA Chairman stated that this new service is ushering Pakistan into a new era of digital services. The online identity card service is expected to enhance transparency and further strengthen public trust in the institution.
