Speaker of the National Assembly has formally accepted the resignation of Balochistan National Party Chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal, from NA-256 Khuzdar seat on Wednesday.
It should be noted that Sardar Akhtar Mengal had submitted his resignation from his membership on September 3, 2024, after which the process of its verification and approval took some time. After Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s resignation, the political atmosphere in Khuzdar has heated up and its effects are being analyzed in the public and political circles. Political experts says that due to the new situation in NA-256, by-elections or an increase in political activities are expected.
The decision of the BNP chief to resign from the National Assembly has created the possibility of significant changes in the party and provincial politics as well. Further political developments and party strategy will become clear in the coming days.
