SWAT: Armed persons attacked the house of former Minister and incumbent Member of Provincial Assembly(MPA) Fazl Hakeem, no casualties were reported.
According to the police, the attack took place at the residence of provincial minister and MPA Fazal Hakim Yousafzai late at night. The firing was intense that it caused fear in the neighbourhood.
Nineteen suspected persons linked to the shooting were detained. Authorities seized several weapons from the suspects. At the time of the operation law enforcement officers also seized light and heavy firearms, including rifles and pistols, from the detainees. Authorities mentioned that these arms might have been intended for terrorist or criminal activities.
Sources suggest that the attack might be result of personal enmity, given that the MPA is also engaged in a property dispute with the Wali Swat family. Fazal Hakim Yousafzai is a political personality, and different political opponents or factions have accused him of contentious actions.
Police have begun questioning the assailants. They are attempting to determine their motive for executing the attack. Additionally, the police are broadening the investigation to ascertain whether the attack was linked to a plot or stemmed from individual hostility.
The incident has caused fear among the citizens of Swat, as it shows that the law and order situation in the area is still unstable. Despite immediate police action, such incidents raise questions about public safety in the area.
