ISLAMABAD: The National Motorways and Highway Police (NHMP) on Thursday announced the closure of Motorways at different sections due to dense fog. The visibility has significantly dropped on the reported points of the Motorways.

According to the statement issued by the NHMP, the motorway sections M2, M3 and M11 are closed for all types of traffic as the visibility on the routes has significantly dropped due to dense fog.

NHMP said the M2 section was closed from Thokar Niaz Baig to Hiron Minar, and M3 traffic was suspended from Faizpur to Jaranwala, while M11 was closed to traffic from Lahore to the Sambhrial areas of Punjab.

The Motorway authorities have advised commuters to avoid travelling via the motorways during dense fog to remain safe from any untowards mishap. They also suggested using the Grand Trunk Road in case of emergencies.
