DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Jalal Mehsud): Six people were killed, and three others were injured in a shooting incident in Mangal village, located in the Parwa tehsil of Dera Ismail Khan.
According to Station House Officer (SHO) Samar Abbas, no arrests have been made yet in connection with the accused group led by Zulfiqar Marwat.
This tragic incident occurred as a result of the snatching and attempted recovery of three motorcycles. The police reported that three motorcycles were taken at gunpoint in Parwa last night. Today, members of the Astarana tribe from Mangal village went to Marwat New Well to recover the stolen motorcycles. A heated argument ensued, which led to gunfire between the opposing groups.
As a result of the shooting, four people have died, and their bodies have been moved to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Trauma Centre. Four others were also injured in the exchange of fire.
Among the deceased is Altaf Khan Astarana, the brother of Sharbat Khan Astarana, who is an active member of the Pakistan Peoples Party in the Astarana area. The post-mortem examinations for the deceased are currently underway at the DHQ Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan. Both Qaiser Khan Miankhel and Shoaib Khan Miankhel were present at the trauma centre.
