TEHRAN: Iranian state media confirmed that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been appointed as the new Supreme Leader of Iran. The move comes as part of a broader push to maintain national unity amidst the current political situation.
The Iranian Assembly of Experts (Majlis Khobregan) has called on the nation to remain united and pledge their loyalty to the new Supreme Leader. The assembly emphasized that national solidarity and unity are crucial in these challenging times for Iran.
In the wake of this development, US President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning, stating that the new Supreme Leader must first gain approval from the United States. “If he does not receive our approval, his tenure will not last long,” Trump was quoted as saying.
