BANNU: A mis-timed suicide bomber blew himself up near Dwa Ghora Pul-Sorani area of the Basiya Khel police station in Bannu on Tuesday morning.
Local sources said that the terrorist incident occurred, when a motorcycle-borne suicide bomber blew himself up in the Dwa Ghora Pul area, jurisdiction of Basia Khail Police station. According to initial information, the intensity of the blast was quite high, and it spread panic in the nearby area. The sound of the blast was heard far and wide, after which the police and other security forces immediately reached the scene.
Fortunately, there was no loss of life despite the high intensity of the blast. According to the police, there were people in the area, but no one was injured due to the attacker blowing himself up. Given the intensity of the blast, it was difficult to say what the outcome would have been if there had been more people there. Apprently the target of the suicide bomber was Basia Khail Police station however suddenly his explosive detonated before reaching the target.
Police and security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Authorities have launched a full investigation of the area to determine the target of the terrorist.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its adjoining areas have witnessed an increase in terrorist incidents in recent days. This attack is being seen as a link in this chain. Police and security agencies are warning the public to immediately report any suspicious activity or person to prevent further possible attacks.
Following this incident, security forces have appealed to the public to keep an eye on any suspicious person or unusual activity and immediately report it to the police to prevent such attacks in time.
