RUSTAM: Two mine workers were killed on Friday following an explosion involving explosive materials in the Pulodhari Sapnike area in Rustam, Mardan.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at a mining plant when explosive materials detonated unexpectedly during routine work. The blast resulted in the immediate death of both labourers on site.
The deceased have been identified as Jafar, a resident of Kande Umarabad, and Sadiq Khan, a resident of Dir. Following the completion of necessary formalities, the bodies were shifted to their respective native areas for burial.
The heirs of the deceased have termed the explosion a tragic accident. Consequently, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered by the local police regarding the incident.
