Awami National Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Mian Iftikhar Hussain has strongly condemned the IED bomb blast in front of the room of Awami National Party Swat Senior Vice President Malik Mumtaz Ali Khan, calling it a cowardly and regrettable act.

He said that the workers and leadership of Awami National Party cannot be intimidated through such low tactics. This is the second attack on Malik Mumtaz Ali Khan in the last five months, before that, an attempt was made to target him at the same place on November 12, 2025, however, like every time, this time too, by the grace of Allah Almighty, there was no loss of life, which is a great fortune.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that such consecutive incidents clearly reflect the deteriorating law and order situation in the province and raise serious questions about the performance of the government. He demanded that an immediate, impartial and transparent investigation be conducted into this incident and the responsible elements be brought to justice without delay. He said that the protection of life and property of the people is the primary responsibility of the government, however, the government has completely failed in this, which is a cause for concern.

On a daily basis, incidents of terrorism are happening from Waziristan to Bajaur and Chitral, but establishing peace and eliminating extremism and terrorism are not among the priorities of the provincial and central governments. Mian Iftikhar Hussain further said that the Awami National Party expresses complete solidarity with Malik Mumtaz Ali Khan and his family and is with them in this hour of difficulty.

The Awami National Party will never back down from its struggle against terrorism, extremism and violence. The history of the party is full of eternal sacrifices, and we will continue the mission of our martyrs at all costs.
