RAWALPINDI: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has slammed the government and termed it a fake and worse than Imran Khan’s rule.
Addressing the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Youth Convention in Rawalpindi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman strongly criticised the current government and said that this government is based on a fake mandate.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that although he and his party are not in power, the government is being run without respecting any kind of mandate.
He said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam does not do politics of power but does politics based on the guidance of the nation and principles.
He said that coming to power is not a destination but part of the journey. Today’s government was not formed but was established by combining different parties; such governments are a mockery of democracy and politics.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman also severely criticised the Election Commission and said that the Election Commission did not know the correct result of even a single constituency, and called it a puppet Election Commission.
He said that the PDM will never accept this rigged election and will always do politics based on facts and arguments.
He also criticised relations with China and mega projects and said that major projects were stopped during Imran Khan’s government, which affected the expectations of global partners.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that China had hoped for improvement from the PDM leadership, but the current situation has affected Pakistan’s reputation.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman challenged the government in his speech, saying that if you have won the majority, we will respect you wholeheartedly, but the mandate cannot be distorted in any way.
