JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Thursday that there is a need to formulate a clear national policy at the international and national levels. Pakistan has no option but to mediate in the regional situation.

Talking to the media in Dera Ismail Khan, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that in view of the current situation, he has suggested calling an in-camera session of the parliament so that the problems can be resolved through national consultation.

He said that there is a need to formulate a clear national policy at the international and national levels, because the Islamic world is constantly in crisis and a war atmosphere is being found everywhere.

He said that after Iraq and Libya, the situation in Iran has also become worrisome, so Muslim countries should make progress towards the Islamic bloc. Maulana Fazlur Rehman added that there is definitely talk of mediation, but the question is whether Pakistan is currently in a position to mediate, as Pakistan has no other option but mediation, nor does the country have a clear foreign policy.

The law and order situation is poor in many areas, including Dera Ismail Khan, Lakki Marwat, and Tank, while the situation is also tense on the eastern and western borders. The government writ is not visible anywhere in the country, and various areas are in turmoil.
