ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) on Friday announced a major discovery of a gas reserve in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kohat district.
Media reports indicate that Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) is achieving significant successes. The company has discovered a substantial gas reserve in the Kohat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to a spokesperson, the gas reserve was found in the Thal block, specifically from the Bilting-1 well, which is expected to produce 26.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. The well was successfully drilled to a depth of 4,004 meters.
The spokesperson also noted that Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL), MOL Group, and Ghandhara Oil are partners in the Thal joint venture alongside OGDCL. This discovery of local resources is anticipated to enhance Pakistan’s energy security and help balance supply and demand.
