White House: Trump may seek financial support from Arab states amid Iran tensions
Meanwhile, White House Spokesperson Caroline Levitt has stated that discussions pertaining to the Iran war are moving in the right direction, with Iran agreeing to some of the United States’ demands.
While confirming that the 4 to 6-week timeline for the war with Iran is still valid, she stated that there is a distinction between what is said and what is done. She further stated that any communication received from Iran would be analyzed and considered carefully.
Levitt also revealed that President Trump is considering requesting Arab nations to help pay the costs of the war with Iran. She stated, “President Trump is interested in having Gulf countries contribute to the costs of the war with Iran. This is still a proposal, and the final decision will be made by the President himself.”
She also stated that the United States is against Iran’s toll tax on the Strait of Hormuz and that 20 tankers are expected to pass through the Strait in the coming days.
confirmed that the U.S. had granted permission for Russia to send an oil tanker to Cuba on humanitarian grounds. However, there has been no change in the policy adopted by the United States regarding Cuba.
It is also pertinent to mention that Iran has denied holding any direct talks with the United States. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baqai said that there had been no talks between Iran and the United States, and the only means of communication had been through intermediaries.
