MARDAN: Cheques worth Rs 5.5 million were distributed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department under the “Sturi Da Pakhtunkhwa” scholarship program to the top twenty-six students who achieved outstanding results in the matriculation examinations in government schools under the Mardan Education Board.

The special guest of the ceremony was Provincial Education Minister Faisal Khan Tarakai, who congratulated the students for their outstanding performance. On this occasion, the students appreciated the provincial government’s scholarship program and said that such initiatives boost their morale.The program was initiated for the first time by Awami National Party Former Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti. In the middle the program was suspended in PTI government however, due to media criticism the program was relaunched in which the outstanding students are being rewarded three lack rupees each student in two instalments.
