Major upset seen in the 19th match of the Twenty20 World Cup when Zimbabwe defeated Australiaby 23 runs.
In this Group B match played in Colombo, Zimbabwe defeated Australia by 23 runs.
In the match, Australia won the toss and decided to field first against Zimbabwe, after which Zimbabwe gave Australia a target of 170 runs to win.
The Zimbabwean team scored 169 runs for 2 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Later, in pursuit of the target, the entire Australian team was dismissed for 146 runs in 19.3 overs.
Australia’s Matt Renshaw scored 65 and Glenn Maxwell scored 31 runs, while Zimbabwe’s Muzaffarini took 4 and Brad Evans took 3 wickets.
Australian players could not even enter double figures while batting in the match.
It should be noted that this was the second match of both teams, in their first match Zimbabwe defeated Oman and Australia defeated Ireland.
