The police in Lakki Marwat took timely action and foiled a major plan of destruction near petrol pump at Mohalla police station.
According to SHO Imran Khan, a suspicious IED was reported in front of the Go Pump at the Mohalla Railway Station in the city.
As soon as the information was received, the police personnel and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team immediately reached the spot. The BDS team defused the improvised IED installed on the side of Mianwali Road in a skillful and professional manner, while the explosives were made ineffective with utmost care.
SHO Imran Khan said that the IED was prepared in a small drum in which about 40 kg of explosives were used. Two detonators, a 12-volt battery and a circuit were also recovered from the bomb.
