The Motorway Police have closed several major motorways across the country due to dense fog.
According to a spokesperson, the Lahore to Sialkot motorway (M-11) has been shut due to poor visibility, while traffic on the Lahore to Multan motorway (M-3) has also been halted for the same reason. Similarly, the Pindi Bhattian to Multan motorway (M-4) and Sukkur to Multan motorway (M-5) have been closed as heavy fog persists.
The Motorway Police said the closures are aimed at protecting public life and property and preventing possible accidents.
The spokesperson warned that lane violations, speeding, and unnecessary overtaking during foggy conditions could lead to serious accidents.
Motorists have been urged to avoid non-essential travel. Those who must travel are advised to use fog lights, reduce speed, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
