A significant development has been made in the Supreme Court in the defamation case filed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif against the founder of PTI, as the bench hearing the review appeal regarding the right of defence of the founder of PTI has been changed.
The Supreme Court has constituted a new three-member bench to hear the case, which will be headed by Justice Hashim Khan Kakar. Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim will also be included in the bench. The new bench will hear the case on March 31.
According to sources, Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb has been included in the previous bench in place of Justice Ayesha Malik. Earlier, a three-member bench headed by Justice Ayesha Malik was hearing the case.
It should be noted that the PTI founder had approached the Supreme Court against the trial court’s decision to revoke his right to defence, but a three-member bench headed by former Justice Mansoor Ali Shah rejected his plea.
Later, the PTI founder filed a review appeal in the Supreme Court against this decision, which will now be heard by a new bench.
