ISLAMABAD: The authorities have unveiled a plan to distribute millions of Chromebooks to students nationwide, intending to advance digital education and equip young people with contemporary learning resources.
Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme made the declaration at a press briefing describing it as a move to establish educational and growth prospects for the youth. He stated that empowering people continues to be a key priority for the government.
Rana Mashhood mentioned that expatriate Pakistanis are displaying enthusiasm for investing in the nation which will both bolster the domestic economy and generate additional job opportunities.
As part of the initiative, the TT Care Foundation plans to supply a total of 1.2 million Chromebooks to students. Out of this amount, 700,000 Chromebooks will be handed out away with another 500,000 devices set to be delivered by June 2026.
He also disclosed that the government intends to hand out 3 million Chromebooks to students throughout Pakistan within the next two years. This project is anticipated to enhance online learning and offer students access to advanced digital resources.
Rana Mashhood stressed that the allocation procedure will be conducted with transparency. Students from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also participate in the initiative to guarantee access to education nationwide.
The initiative is being seen as a major step toward bridging the digital divide and strengthening Pakistan’s education system through technology.
