Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has signed the summary to appoint Mahmood Khan Achakzai as the Opposition Leader and has issued a formal notification.
The post of Opposition Leader in the National Assembly was vacant after the disqualification of Omar Ayub, after which the Speaker appointed Mahmood Khan Achakzai as the Leader of the Opposition, as per the legal and constitutional requirements.
The meeting of the National Assembly was held in Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s chamber. He also summoned Barristers Gohar and Aamir Dogar and instructed them to hand over the notification.
Barrister Gohar made a clear announcement that there is no forward bloc in PTI; Imran Khan was, is, and will remain the chairman.
The issuance of the opposition leader’s notification was delayed yesterday, on which the Speaker held detailed consultations with senior officers of the secretariat and reviewed all legal aspects so that the process is completed transparently and constitutionall.
