PESHAWAR: The National Highway and Motorway police announced the closure of the M1 motorway from Peshawar to Rashaki to all kinds of traffic due to heavy rain in the region.

The M-1 motorway has been closed to all traffic from Peshawar to Rashkai due to intense rainfall in the region. The closure comes as a safety measure to prevent accidents caused by hazardous driving conditions.

Authorities are advising motorists to avoid this route and seek alternate paths until the weather improves. Further updates will be provided as the situation evolves.

According to a statement issued by the Motorway Police spokesperson, the section from Rashakai Interchange to Peshawar Main Toll Plaza has been closed for passenger vehicles to avoid any possible accident and ensure the safety of passengers.

The Motorway Police has strictly instructed drivers to keep the speed of vehicles very low during rain and maintain a suitable distance from the vehicle in front.

Citizens have been asked to avoid unnecessary travel and, before starting the journey, be aware of the latest road conditions through the Motorway Police helpline 130 or the Humsafar app.

The administration says that traffic will be restored to normal as soon as the weather conditions improve.
