ISLAMABAD: Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik will continue to hold his current responsibilities as the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI). He was appointed to this position in September 2024 and is also serving as the National Security Advisor (NSA).

According to security sources, Lt. General Asim Malik previously served as the Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ) for three years and has commanded divisions and brigades in Balochistan and South Waziristan. He is regarded as a distinguished officer in the Pakistan Army and has been awarded the Sword of Honour. Additionally, he has served as an instructor at the National Defence University and Staff College in Quetta.
