TIMERGARA (Abdullah Madni): During a departmental accountability process in the District Police Lower Dir, 29 police officials facing serious charges were removed, while several others received warnings.
Acting on the instructions of DPO Lower Dir Taimur Khan PSP, 11 officials were dismissed from service, 17 were forced to retire, and one official was separated from service.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspended officials were presented in the orderly room, and each case was individually reviewed.
Decisions were made after a detailed assessment of evidence and departmental records. Investigations revealed that some officials were involved in financial and moral corruption, as well as other illegal activities, including links with the occupation mafia, timber mafia, and drug peddlers. Strict disciplinary action was taken under departmental rules.
During further hearings, seven officials were issued strict warnings, as allegations against them were not proven, while actions against two other officials were terminated after thorough investigation.
Police officials stated that the purpose of the accountability process is to ensure discipline in the department and to root out corrupt elements.
DPO Lower Dir Taimur Khan PSP said that transparent and impartial accountability will continue within the police force.
He stated that action will be taken against guilty officials according to the law, while the rights of innocent personnel will be fully protected. He added that no connections with criminal elements will be tolerated, and the zero-tolerance policy will be strictly enforced to restore and strengthen public trust.
