SWABI: Locals protests against the worst power outage in Kalu Khan tehsil of Swabi continue. Angry protesters closed the Mardan-Swabi main highway to all types of traffic, due to which long queues of vehicles formed and passengers faced severe difficulties.
The protesters say that the prolonged and unannounced load shedding has paralyzed daily life, businesses have come to a standstill, while students and sick people are being severely affected. The public has demanded that the load shedding be immediately stopped otherwise, the scope of the protest will be expanded further. The protest has created tension in the area, while the administration and police are trying to control the situation by reaching the spot.
Meanwhile, residents of Buner have also strongly criticised the federal government for the prolonged power outage and demanded that the Prime Minister take notice of these issues as they are paying their bills on time while there is 14 hours 14-hour-long power outage. The resident are facing severe water shortage due to electricity as most of the people are dependent on tube wells and water bore to pump out water.
