PESHAWAR: The Imran Khan Stadium in Peshawar has recently completed the installation of its lights, which has opened the stadium to the possibility of holding night matches there.
The stadium’s management confirmed that the testing of the lights was done recently and without any problem. The administration of the stadium shared the news that their testing of lights has been successful, and now they are in a position to hold events at night.
The improvement at the stadium allows the ground to hold matches at night, which will be a great atmosphere for the fans and will also increase the capacity of the stadium in terms of how many games it can hold.
The official statement from management said “The light testing was successful, and we are now ready to host night matches. The development will establish a new sports dimension for Peshawar while we look forward to upcoming events.”
The Imran Khan Stadium will now offer additional event options because it is named after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party founder who established the venue.
PSL 11: Peshawar Zalmi retain Babar Azam, release Saim Ayub
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi will keep Babar Azam as their captain for the upcoming 11th season of Pakistan Super League.
The franchise has decided to release opener Saim Ayub before the upcoming players’ auction, according to sources.
Peshawar Zalmi included both Babar Azam and Saim Ayub in their platinum player category. The PSL rules permit franchises to keep one player from each player category.
With this decision, Saim Ayub will now be available to all franchises in the PSL players’ auction.
It is worth noting that all PSL franchises are expected to announce their retained players today.
