PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that a shallow westerly wave is effecting the northern part and mountain regions.

Rain and light snowfall have once again gripped northern and upper parts of the country, enhancing winter’s chill while offering picturesque scenes across mountainous regions.

Intermittent rain and snowfall were recorded in Galiyat, Muzaffarabad, and Chilas, resulting in a noticeable decline in temperatures. Snowfall was also reported in high-altitude areas including Babusar Top, Nanga Parbat, and Bhutto Gah Top, as well as the mountainous regions of Darel, Tangir, Niyat, and Goharabad.

Popular tourist destinations in Swat, including Kalam and Malam Jabba, were also covered in snow, attracting tourists who were seen skating and enjoying the wintry landscape.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has forecast that light rain and snowfall may continue in upper regions over the coming days, warning of possible traffic issues and intensified cold.

Travelers have been advised to exercise caution while visiting high-altitude areas.
